of the bicycles that will be offered for sale.
Terms are CASH-IN-HAND, CERTIFIED FUNDS (Verifiable Cashier's Check), or Master Card/Discover/Visa (with a 3.5% user fee for charge cards) due IMMEDIATELY after sale. The bicycles offered for sale come into the hands of the Denver Police Department for any number of reasons. They may have been stolen, found or simply abandoned. The City is required to store the bicycles for a period of thirty (30) days to allow rightful owners to establish their claim to the bikes. If no rightful owner (or insurance carrier) makes claim to a bike, it becomes--by ordinance—abandoned, and City property.
Registration of bicycles is not required in the City and County of Denver. However, the Denver Police Department Bicycle Bureau maintains a voluntary registration program. Every bicycle purchased at this auction will be entered into the registration data base. If you have other bicycles you wish to register, please contact the Denver Police Bicycle Bureau at 303-295-4390.
Pursuant to the passage of Referred Charter Amendment 1C by Denver voters on May 6, 2003, City employees may now participate in City and County of Denver auction sales.
